The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N) is dedicated to attracting, admitting, and supporting students throughout their academic journey. The division includes several key areas: One Stop Student Services (which integrates the Office of Financial Aid and the Registrar's Office), the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions, and the Center for Pre-College Programs.
The Sr. Program Coordinator of the One Stop at RU-N will play a vital role in daily operations and student support services. This position is responsible for helping students navigate financial aid, registration, and related processes by providing efficient, accurate, and student centered support. |
Posting Summary |
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Sr. Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of the myRUN One Stop who reports up to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services & Experience, the Sr. Program Coordinator/MyRUN Counselor works to improve the quality of the student experience, and to organize the Rutgers University-Newark student experience; organizing the Rutgers University-Newark in ways that facilitate student success via a host of student related services existing in the MyRUN .
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Assist students in navigating the various pathways after enrollment at Rutgers University-Newark: student accounting, class registration, financial aid, etc
- Act as a facilitator to resolve any student service(s) issue(s) as it relates to enrollment services; be knowledgeable about all student benefits and functions of the offices of financial aid, the registrar, and student accounting
- Provide administrative support to the one-stop center/student services center for students, families, and other University departments
- Provide administrative support for the website that supports the one-stop center/ student services center for Rutgers University-Newark/Camden
- Counsel students on a variety of concerns for registration, financial aid, billing, due dates, payment plans and parking
- Advise, investigate, problem-solve, and resolve and/or advocate for the actual or perceived to resolve students inquires and issues from all students, families, colleagues, third parties, outside agencies, and community members
- Counsel students and their parents/families on financial aid application procedures and eligibility for all sources of funding
- Provide advising to students and families with financial aid concerns such as FAFSA application, disbursements, cost of attendance, eligibility, types of aid, and student employment, student record systems and various software and web-based resources such as National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Sakai, Rutgers App, EAB, FAA Access, HESAA, ELM resources
- Possess knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional regulations for assisting students in eligibility of student aid
- Support various offices within enrollment management/services with such items that include but are not limited to: collect and image scholarship and financial aid paperwork; communication with SAR issues; etc
- Possess a compassionate understanding of diversity, special and multi-cultural issues
- Engage in regular professional development offered by the Campus and will make a concerted effort to model best practices in student service delivery
- Supports numerous outreach activities that include but are not limited to: SOAR myRUN information sessions; Open House; Admitted Student Day; PreCollege Parent programs; Junior Jump Start Day; Rutgers Day; etc
- Provides leadership for the RU-N Senior Citizen Audit program

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach
- Requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function that includes coordination of work and management of people; good communication skills; and computer literacy
