About this Role - Project Controls Engineer We are looking for a talented Project Controls Engineer who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for providing support, coordination, technical expertise and assisting with the management for all aspects of the project controls reporting system. What You'll Do - Work closely with MJE Project Managers, MJE Project Controls, MJE Finance along with key representatives to assure that all systems and processes are developed and implemented to create a productive program and operation control reporting system. - Systematically evaluate project progress against established goals, timelines, forecasts, schedules, customer needs and objectives. Identify and report problem areas and provide assistance to correct deficiencies. - Support the development and implementation of common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, documentation and budgeting for projects. - Ability to delegate activities, responsibilities, and authorities, ensuring appropriate levels and assignments of accountability are defined and understood. - Provide leadership in support of operational project management while implementing processes, procedures and training to standardize controls. - Assist with the development and tracking of key performance and financial metrics that will optimize performance, productivity and reduce costs. - Support the development, implementation and refinement of a comprehensive reporting system that will be a tool to inform MJE Management on the status of all projects in the areas of cost, scheduling, manpower and safety. - Establishing and updating the construction schedule utilizing Primavera or other project scheduling software What You'll Bring - Strong project controls skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects - Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiations skills - Strong PC skills and proficient in the use of project scheduling software e.g Primavera, Microsoft Project - Strong leadership skills. - Ability to provide oversight to numerous projects throughout the entire organization - Customer service skills - Proficient in the use of excel, word - Familiarity with Primavera PV6 scheduling software - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Accounting or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered - Solid (3-5 years) experience in the electrical construction (heavy industrial & utility), engineering, project management or operations management.
