Job Description

Ameritas Investment Partners (AIP) is hiring a Finance Intern - Investments to drive the business by working with various investment management teams including Fixed Income, Equities, Commercial Mortgage Loans, Real Estate, Alternative Investments and Wealth Management.

This internship will begin May 2026. This position is a hybrid role in Lincoln, NE working partially in-office and partially from home.



What you do



  • Commercial Mortgage:

    • Assist with the annual operating statement and inspection review process for commercial mortgage loans by performing analysis of operating statements, rent rolls, and inspection reports.
    • Add appropriate data to the portfolio management system.
    • Follow up with management regarding issues documented by inspections or operating statements.
    • As needed, provide written rationale and recommendations for loans to be added to or removed from portfolio monitoring reports.




  • Corporate Credit:


    • Analyze existing and potential investments in the high yield and investment grade markets.
    • Maintain research files on companies and industries within assigned coverage universe. Coverage may entail multiple industries.
    • Review earnings releases, SEC filings, company presentations, rating agency and third-party research reports.
    • Determine relative value and generate trade recommendations in accordance with investment guidelines and state statutes.
    • Maintain effective dialogue with portfolio managers, rating agencies, brokers, and sell-side analysts.
    • Assist in performing special investment or reporting projects as needed.



What you bring



  • Must be enrolled in a college level degree program -- associate or bachelor level


    • Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration majors preferred


  • Able to commit to a full year of work - part-time during the academic school year and full-time during the summer


    • PT includes 10-20 hours a week
    • FT includes 30-40 hours a week


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Self-motivated
