Position Title: Manager of Payroll

Business Unit: Human Resources

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for managing the payroll processes of the company. The incumbent manages the team that develops and controls all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives. The incumbent oversees the administration of the payroll and time and attendance system. Also responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing payroll and other related financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides direction, sets priorities and oversees the day to day operation of the Payroll team.

Prepares, reviews, and analyzes payroll and other related financial reporting. Works closely with internal business partners in providing key financial data as needed.

Manages in-house processing and disbursement of multi-state payroll including garnishments, taxes, ACH file, 401(k) file and general ledger consistent with federal, state and local tax laws. Reviews reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts monthly, federal, state and local tax returns quarterly and annually and directs the balancing and processing of W-2s annually.

Assists in the preparation and administration of the Payroll portion of the HR annual budget.

Ensures the processing of new hires, temporary hires, transfers, promotions and terminations are processed accurately and timely.

Directs the preparation and filing of required reports and payments to government agencies and other organizations. Reviews and updates Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 documentation for Payroll and performs annual SOX testing. Oversees the preparation of the annual Report of Organization.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
