The Sr. Electronics Technician - Rapid PCBA is a member of our technician team in the Power Tool Electronics Laboratory. Your main responsibility will be populating printed circuit boards to deliver Electronic Prototypes on time, with high quality and with a continuous improvement mindset.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Program automated assembly equipmentfor prototype PCBAs.
  • Develop and optimize machine programsto ensure efficient, high-quality assembly processes, minimizing cycle time and maximizing throughput.
  • Troubleshoot programming-related issuesand collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve equipment or process faults.
  • Analyze post-assembly resultsand provide feedback on design for manufacturability (DFM) and process improvements.
  • Document programming parameters, revisions, and setup instructionsto support repeatability and knowledge sharing.
  • Support preventive maintenance effortsby identifying programming-related wear patterns or inefficiencies.
  • Communicate project status, delays, and technical updatesclearly with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, cleanliness, and ESD protocolsin the programming and equipment areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiativesby implementing new programming techniques, software updates, and automation strategies.
  • Collaborate with design and process engineersto align machine programming with evolving product requirements and prototyping needs.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Associates Degree from a two-year college or technical school. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of operating soldering equipment typically used for both densely populated SMT circuits as well as wiring for power electronics.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • IPC knowledge.
  • Must be able to identify electronic components, polarity, values, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using and working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Manufacturing experience with Automated assembly and inspection equipment.
  • Experience working alongside engineers in an engineering/electronics lab.
