Your Role on Our Team:
Under the direction of and reporting to Plant Manager, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager will develop and implement sustainable, robust and reliable complex manufacturing processes to achieve aggressive cost, quality and throughput goals and objectives.
This position works as a working-manager in a team environment and uses engineering expertise and abilities to contribute to the development and manufacturing of power tool batteries.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Development & Maintenance:
Strong analytical skills, knowledge, and experience in process evaluation tools: Design of Experiments (DOE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PFMEA, DFMEA, statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools
Lead root cause analysis in production environment leveraging tools 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and other RCA tools
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plan in production environment
Work with Global & Site AME & QE resources to develop innovative manufacturing processes and controls
Knowledge and experience in production manufacturing & assembly processes
Automation, resistance and laser welding, ultrasonic welding, part handling, etc
Expertise in electrical motor manufacturing principles such as winding, fusing, and balancing
Develop innovative solutions; implement sustainable, robust and reliable complex manufacturing processes
Leverage available machine data for use in process control plans, SPC, and product traceability
Work with and lead development with equipment suppliers to deliver custom equipment solutions
Research and evaluate new technologies and breakthrough process controls to accelerate competitive manufacturing & quality advantage
Utilize prototyping methods to develop and prepare engineering samples for evaluation and testing
Perform a variety of calculation and software aided analyses to prove process reliability, capability and sustainability
Provide multiple what-if scenarios to find best total cost solution with financial impacts with emphasis on delivery timelines
Project/Team Management Skills:
Lead manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance and engineering expertise to cross-functional team members
Facilitate project flow involving regular contact with engineering, manufacturing and other cross functional teams when necessary
Ability to lead business critical projects to meet product and productivity requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication to make formal presentations regarding project status to team and management
Provide input with cross functional teams of baseline staffing and skillset required as related to the operational complexity of the process
Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team environment and challenge status quo with respect to drive the best solutions for the business
Lead team of engineers and technicians to execute product delivery projects and support mass production
What TOOLS you'll bring with you:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 8 years Manufacturing Engineering experience & 3 years of engineering management required
Preferred enhanced specialty skills in new process development and implementation, DOE, and quality controls
Experience in developing and executing onboarding and professional development / upskilling team members
Advanced computer knowledge and skills in MS Office and Solidworks/AutoCAD/NX

Ability to travel domestically and internationally for machine and/or concept evaluations
Estimated yearly travel: 10%-20%
Most trips will be 1-2 week with the possibility of weekend travel

Ability to be interactive "hands on" with each upcoming engineering project
