INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Operations Intern will play an integral role in evaluating and enhancing the performance of our Manufacturing Processes in Berlin, NJ. This project-based internship offers a unique opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world construction supply environment - ideal for students pursuing Construction Management, Construction Science, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.

You'll work closely with our team to identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency. The goal: to help make our Manufacturing operations best-in-class within our market.

INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVE

To gain a fresh, analytical perspective on our daily operations and discover improvement opportunities that may go unnoticed due to familiarity with existing processes. The intern will collaborate across the team to evaluate, document, and recommend enhancements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and team productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operational Immersion: Work alongside the Operations Manager and Production Supervisors to understand daily workflows, from Manufacturing workflow to Jobsite delivery.
• Process Evaluation: Review and analyze existing Manufacturing processes, identifying inefficiencies, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Error Prevention & Efficiency: Develop recommendations to eliminate Manufacturing Overprocessing errors and catch issues early.
• Documentation & Reporting: Record findings, summarize observations, and propose actionable solutions in collaboration with the operations team.
• Collaboration & Communication: Participate in regular check-ins and feedback sessions with the manager and manufacturing leadership team to ensure progress and alignment.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred: Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Management, or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher; juniors and seniors strongly encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a hands-on, field environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

• Work will take place in a combination of office and manufacturing settings.
• Position will involve standing, walking, and observing manufacturing operations.
• Occasionally required to lift or move materials of 25 pounds or greater.
