Job Objective: Provide divisional leadership over select accounting operations, budgeting, and grant-funded program compliance for Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) and assigned units. Supervise accounting staff, ensure the accuracy of financial records and reporting, and safeguard compliance with all funding requirements and Salvation Army policies. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred in Accounting, or related field; relevant experience as determined by The Salvation Army, may be considered in lieu of education requirement Experience: Minimum five (5) years progressive accounting experience; nonprofit and supervisory experience strongly preferred Certifications/Licenses: None Skills/Abilities:
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct supervision of Accounting Managers, Accounting Specialists, Staff Accountants, and Senior Staff Accountants Physical Requirements: Good speaking, hearing, and vision ability and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment. Travel: None Driving: Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment; moderate noise level; some weekend or evening work may be required.
