We are recruiting a hands-on Payroll Manager for a growing company in the Raleigh, NC area. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations across the company and play a key role in integrating new processes as the organization continues to grow. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the payroll function, managing multi-state payroll cycles with varying pay frequencies.
  • Ensure payroll is prepared, reviewed, and approved on time and with precision, oversee payroll data collection, entry, and compliance
  • Become the go-to expert for complex payroll matters, tax compliance, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as primary liaison with external payroll providers, driving improvements and automation in processes.
  • Design and implement standardized payroll procedures serving as a foundation for continued growth
  • Partner with HR and Operational teams to support business initiatives
  • Maintain compliance at federal, state, and local levels
  • Manage workers' compensation coding and reporting across all entities.
  • Lead payroll integrations during mergers & acquisitions to ensure a seamless transition for employees.
  • Provide payroll data for month-end close, reporting, and audits.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and multi-state payroll administration.
  • Experience with payroll systems and integrations, plus a knack for improving processes.
  • Comfort navigating both the big picture and the day-to-day details.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to build trust across teams.
  • Experience with payroll integrations during acquisitions or rapid growth is a plus
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
