We are recruiting a results-driven Controller for a growing company in the RTP area. This role will lead all aspects of accounting, controlling, and financial reporting for the region, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and internal policies. You will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional leaders, manage a high-performing team, and drive process improvements.
The ideal candidate is both a hands-on problem solver and a big-picture thinker - someone who can manage the monthly close with precision while also influencing strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Ensure adherence to US GAAP and corporate policies. Provide guidance to stakeholders on complex accounting matters.
  • Act as the primary liaison for both internal and external audits, providing all required documentation and maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and annual inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes, controls, and systems with a focus on automation, standardization, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, commercial, operations, and corporate teams to deliver actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Lead preparation of budgets and forecasts, consolidating input from multiple departments and monitoring actual vs. plan performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, manufacturing industry experience is required.
  • Strong technical expertise in US GAAP and internal controls (SOX experience a plus).
  • Proven success in managing audits, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Skilled in both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, implement systems, and lead through change.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and strong Excel skills.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
