OverviewAzure Data Manager for Energy, ADME, helps Energy companies gain actionable insights, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate time to market on the enterprise-grade, cloud-based OSDU Data Platform service. It supports innovation with a flexible, open energy platform that developers can build upon and customize. ADME engineering team is seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead represent ADME in the OSDU community. This individual will contribute to the OSDU code base through a structured open-source development process, ensuring quality, compliance, and interoperability across the platform. This role requires a deep commitment to open-source software (OSS) principles and a proven track record of contributing to or maintaining OSS projects. Familiarity with the Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) platform is desirable, especially in contexts involving data ingestion, platform architecture, or AI/ML applications in Energy or industrial domains. ResponsibilitiesGuides partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams. Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform. Optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI). Guides team to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers). Guides team and acts as an expert for Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and monitors other engineers across product lines, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Leads product development and scaling to customer requirements and applies best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations and holds accountability for products that do not meet expectations
