Director of Nursing (RN)

Pathway Health has partnered with an amazing Senior living community that is looking for a dynamic Director of Nursing leader.

Our client is seeking an exceptionally motivated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to step into the role of Director of Nursing (DON) at a well-established, 5-star rated skilled nursing facility located near Chicago, Illinois.

This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $130,000-$140,000 plus an excellent benefit package.

In this vital leadership position, you will guide a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing top-tier care to our residents. Your clinical expertise, leadership, and compassion will be instrumental in driving care excellence, fostering a culture of teamwork, and ensuring optimal outcomes for those we serve.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the nursing department with a focus on clinical excellence, compliance, and resident satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date with and implement federal and local infection prevention and control standards facility-wide.
  • Maintain the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) program, including credentials and training.
  • Oversee the wound care protocol and ensure adherence across all nursing units.
  • Manage all clinical programs, including:

    • Psychotropic medication management
    • Incident and accident reporting
    • Infection prevention and control (IPC)
    • Wound management


  • Ensure timely communication of significant resident developments to families, physicians, the Medical Director, Executive Director, and state agencies, as required.



Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Illinois.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in geriatric nursing and/or a BSN.
  • At least 2 years' experience in nursing administration, preferably in long-term care.
  • Wound Nurse Certification and Infection Prevention Certification are required.
  • NADONA certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and electronic health records.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
