Description
This role supports the full lifecycle of high-performance and scientific computing environments, focusing on infrastructure deployment, system administration, and operational support. Key responsibilities include managing compute and storage systems (CPU/GPU, DELL, NVIDIA), implementing security protocols (fail2ban, iptables), and maintaining high-speed networking (Infiniband, 100-GbE). The position involves scheduler optimization (SLURM, Grid Engine), data transport (SSH, Globus), and performance monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana). Additional duties include user workstation management, software environment management, user support for scientific applications (Matlab, Python, R, Neuroimaging tools), and enforcing operational policies to ensure system integrity and efficiency. Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) and grant-supported hardware deployments (NIH S10, NSF CC*) is fundamental to the role. Ability to take responsibility for complex technical tasks with industry standards and ensure all aspects of computing environment is at 100% operation 24x7. Qualifications
