This Position reports to:

Engineeing Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

This position will provide Manufacturing Engineering support to manufacturing operations of the plant. Typical duties include process design, tooling design, Capital project design and implementation, work instruction documentation, production and maintenance support.

The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite

This role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division in Columbus, MS area.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Plan and implement engineering projects including equipment, tooling, and process improvements. Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, safety requirements, company standards, and other related specifications.
  • Generate project approval justification through Capital Asset Project Requests (CAPR) and manage Capital Projects including procurement, installation, programming, training, documentation, support to production, and provide status reports as required.
  • Identify project staffing, assign and oversee specific phases or aspects such as technical studies, design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Analyze, plan, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required with 2 or more years experience (preferred).
  • Manufacturing process review/development.
  • Strong understanding of Lean process improvements.
  • Preferred Experience Includes: Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC and computer controls, CAD Software; SolidWorks, Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Workday, Lean Six Sigma Certification, PMP Certification.
  • Travel required up to 5-10%
