Job Summary
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse and logistics tasks associated with receiving, picking, packing, and shipping operations within a regional fulfillment center. This position ensures the accurate and efficient flow of materials, including receiving deliveries, verifying documentation, managing inventory, preparing outbound shipments, and maintaining safe and organized work areas. The role may also include operation of material handling equipment and participation in process improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and route all incoming materials, entering receipts into the materials management system.
- Notify the Warehouse Supervisor of discrepancies between received materials and shipping documentation.
- Prepare and document outbound shipments in accordance with established procedures.
- Manage returned goods in compliance with the Returned Goods Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Deliver stock to designated staging areas and ensure proper storage and stock rotation based on receipt and expiration dates.
- Identify and report short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) to the Warehouse Supervisor for review and action.
- Assist in cycle counts and full physical inventories as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational policies, including OSHA, CLIA, and internal warehouse procedures.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and workflow.
- Support order fulfillment by picking, packing, labeling, and delivering both internal and external orders as needed.
- Participate in pre-packing and product breakdown from bulk to smaller packaging.
- Assist with record storage and retrieval processes as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills
- Proficiency with computers and basic warehouse software systems.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand carts (certification preferred).
- Skilled in the use of packing equipment, including tape guns and air pillow machines.
- Electric walkie stacker and pallet jack certification preferred.
Education and Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Must follow safe lifting and moving procedures.
- Safety shoes required (lace-up styles only; steel toe or metatarsal protection not required).
- Athletic-style safety shoes acceptable; high slip resistance preferred.
- Employees will have one (1) day upon start to comply with safety shoe policy or will be asked to leave the site.
