About the role:

Are you ready to lead at the forefront of financial expertise in a global industry leader? Alcoa is seeking a Senior Director - Financial Accounting to join our high-performing Corporate Controllership team at the Alcoa Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

This is more than a job-it's a strategic, high-impact role at the heart of Alcoa's technical accounting leadership. You'll work alongside a team of elite CPAs and financial professionals, directly supporting executive leadership and influencing decisions that shape the future of our business.

Major activities include:

  • Lead a team of 5+ top-tier accountants and CPAs.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting issues across Alcoa's global operations.
  • Oversee accounting for M&A, restructuring, derivatives, pensions, and more.
  • Drive the development and implementation of global accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across Strategy, Tax, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications.
  • Present key financial insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

What you can bring to this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (Master's preferred)
  • CPA certification required
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including SEC reporting requirements
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, and one of the following:
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting
    • Minimum 4 years of experience within an external reporting team of a publicly traded manufacturing company
  • Experience w/ Oracle and Hyperion is a plus.
  • A strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to integrity
