The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-Newark is dedicated to attracting, admitting, and supporting students throughout their academic journey. The division includes several key areas: One Stop Student Services (which integrates the Office of Financial Aid and the Registrar's Office), the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions, and the Center for Pre-College Programs.
This Director position will be housed within the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions, which partners closely with the academic schools and colleges at Rutgers University-Newark to recruit and enroll new graduate and undergraduate students. |
Posting Summary |
Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Director of Admissions. The Director of Applicant Strategy, working closely with the Assistant Chancellor of Enrollment Management, designs and implements a multi-faceted, all-encompassing application evaluation review to plan and meet multiple undergraduate enrollment goals for RU-N.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- With daily engagement research/analytical services of the Office of Institutional Research, uses multiple analytic and diagnostic tools, in order to define and advise on parameters and selection criteria for strategic admission, scholarship awarding, honor offers, etc.;
- Elevates use of diagnostic, analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, Othot) to maximize the understanding of enrollment funnel status and shape the class;
- Elucidate predictive and prescriptive data to counsel on appropriate recruitment, marketing and communications tactics for a variety of audiences;
- Hosts regular updates with school associate deans/liaisons and academic leadership on to help create realistic enrollment targets based on their identified priorities, scholarship and honors to relay strategy, course correct based on school priorities where necessary and inform on cycle progress;
- Provides regular progress updates to student services partners to enable appropriate planning;
- Works closely with, and provide guidelines to application evaluation team to effectively execute selection strategy and deliver accurate admissions decisions to students;
- Develops and deliver a suite of general and custom reports for constituents across the university.
- Makes educated predictions throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Provides reports and projections to Enrollment Management leadership as requested.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree and five years admissions or enrollment management experience including increasing responsibility in a leadership role.
