Purpose:

As a Construction Manager at Worley, you will lead and coordinate all on-site activities associated with the successful delivery of medium-scale projects in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. These projects are critical to advancing our purpose-delivering a more sustainable world. Located primarily at project sites, you will be accountable for the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of construction activities, field engineering, site procurement, and administrative functions. You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainability-aligned outcomes that support the transition to cleaner energy and resource solutions.

Responsibilities:



  • Direct and oversee all phases of site-based construction activities in alignment with project execution plans, ensuring integration with Worley's sustainability and safety objectives.
  • Lead field engineering, procurement, construction supervision, and site administration to ensure timely, quality-driven project delivery.
  • Foster a culture of safety, performance excellence, and continuous improvement across construction teams, contractors, and partners.
  • Implement and monitor site management systems, tools, and processes that support high levels of operational integrity and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and commissioning teams to achieve coordinated execution.
  • Serve as the primary site interface for project leadership, client representatives, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Resolve site-level challenges through informed, pragmatic decision-making, drawing on a broad understanding of construction best practices and project controls.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop site-based teams, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide clear, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across site operations and project goals.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of construction methodologies and project delivery frameworks.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Extensive experience managing construction activities for medium-scale industrial projects, preferably in the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
  • Strong understanding of site logistics, procurement, contractor management, and construction safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary site teams and deliver projects aligned with sustainability goals and industry standards.
  • Proven capability to resolve complex construction challenges and implement process improvements.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management systems, tools, and methodologies; experience contributing to their development is valued.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to present technical and operational information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading or supporting the integration of sustainable construction practices into traditional project delivery models.
  • Sound judgment and leadership qualities, with a focus on team engagement, performance, and safe project execution.
  • Ability to work independently within broad operational objectives and contribute to strategic site planning and coordination.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • University degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.


Preferred:



  • Qualified trade professional with advanced training and relevant experience.
