What you will do

The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance provides financial business partnership to the SVP, Commercial and the broader commercial leadership team specific to the attainment of Clearwater Paper's commercial-related business objectives. This position, in conjunction with one finance analyst, focuses on leading finance processes, business analytics including gap closure planning, budgeting, sales forecasting and customer modeling as necessary. The individual is a valued member of the broader operational finance leadership team and works to support overall business goals and financial results both for the short and long-term. Reports to the VP, Finance and works remote with an ability to travel to the corporate office, mill locations and venues as required.

Financial Leadership



  • Lead the development of the monthly and quarterly sales forecast (price, volume) of $1.5B+ of revenue
  • Lead commercial annual budget development and gap analysis planning to drive annual goal achievement
  • Lead the development of reporting for monthly and quarterly variance analyses, business review materials and quarterly Board of Directors commercial content
  • Provide customer and product level analytics on monthly variances to forecast
  • Provide leadership of the price, volume and mix components of the weekly flash reporting process
  • Support the long-range planning process
  • Oversee and review the development and dissemination of PVM (price, volume, mix) reporting and PMH (profit per machine hour) monthly reporting
  • Participate in RFQ (Request for Quote) process as new business is evaluated, collaborating with other internal groups as needed
  • Participation in Sales and Operational Planning leadership team meetings as the financial and business partner and participate in various daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings
  • Provide ad-hoc support on financial analyses in support of the Commercial leadership team

What you will need



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and/or commercial-related financial planning and analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business management or economics, required
  • MBA Strongly Preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing organization preferred but not required
  • Ability to analyze complex sets of financial information independently
  • Proven ability to manage analyst level talent
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Strong finance PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Remote and in office environment
  • Ability to spend time in manufacturing production mill environments as needed
  • Some eye fatigue due to computer uses and sitting for extended periods of time


Total Rewards Details

We prioritize an exceptional workplace experience, offering a comprehensive total reward package. This position is eligible for our Incentive Plan. Compensation ranges are estimates based on market data. The budgeted salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects the expected compensation for candidates who fully meet the key requirements of the role. Actual offers account for internal equity and candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and geographic location. Benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and more, generally begin after 30 days. Our paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
