Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage the full-cycle recruitment and selection process to ensure the timely and strategic hiring of qualified, mission-aligned candidates. This role partners closely with hiring managers and HR Generalists to provide high-quality staffing support, enhance the candidate experience, and help brand WCS as an Employer of Choice in the social services sector. This position will also lead efforts to build WCS's social media recruiting presence and support ongoing initiatives related to employee retention and workforce engagement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage the full recruitment cycle, from job posting through offer acceptance, in partnership with HR colleagues and program managers.


  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, define job requirements, and develop effective recruitment strategies.


  • Draft and revise job descriptions, internal postings, and external advertisements to attract qualified candidates.


  • Build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, educational institutions, workforce development boards, and media outlets to promote employment opportunities.


  • Establish, maintain, and monitor WCS's social media recruiting presence (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.); analyze platform performance and make data-informed improvements.


  • Provide applicant screening using the ATS, phone interviews, and resume reviews to ensure alignment with job qualifications and organizational values.


  • Maintain a consistent and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process, including timely communication and support.


  • Create and utilize recruitment tracking tools to monitor candidate pipeline, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and other key metrics.


  • Identify and engage passive candidates using creative and proactive sourcing strategies.


  • Represent WCS at job fairs, recruitment events, and community outreach activities to promote the organization and build talent pipelines.


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job postings across internal and external platforms.


  • Support onboarding planning and contribute to retention strategies by identifying hiring trends and process improvements.


  • Uphold all applicable employment laws, WCS policies, and confidentiality standards during all aspects of the recruitment process.


Job Qualifications:
Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.


  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in recruitment or talent acquisition.



Preferred Qualifications



  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification preferred.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Proficient in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS, and Learning Management Systems (LMS); experience with Dayforce HCM, Cyber Recruiter, and Relias preferred.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and across all organizational levels.


  • Technologically proficient; skilled in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and internet-based platforms.


  • Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to team collaboration.

Physical Demands

This is a sedentary office position, requiring frequent talking. Typing and moderate walking are required, with occasional bending for filing. Must use a computer, which entails typing, and spend time speaking and listening to all parties involved in the recruitment process. Thinking skills are essential to align candidate skills with position vacancies.

Moderate office setting with frequent interruptions and inquiries.
