Salary range: $24.00/hour
Working schedule: up to 7 hours per week
Position duration: 6 months

This position provides support to Hypertension Identification using the mobile Health Outreach Project (HI HOPE) up to 7 hours per week.

The Research Project Manager will work closely with HI HOPE faculty leads, the Power of People Leadership Institute's (POPLI) Health and Wellness Coordinators, and the Mobile Health Initiative (MHI) to complete operational and research tasks. This entails working with vulnerable patient populations, interpreters and health professionals in a mobile medical screening model that is continually being developed.

More about HI HOPE: We will be funded through the Program in Health Disparities Research to provide hypertension intervention services through mobile outreach. Clients will receive hypertension education, a complimentary at-home blood pressure cuff, and follow-up support and referrals.

The Research Project Manager will work closely with HI HOPE faculty leads and staff to complete Institutional Review Board forms and procedures, allowing for the review and quality improvement of mobile hypertension screenings, up to 4 hours per week. This project seeks to gain an understanding of community members interest in and baseline knowledge of hypertension screening modalities, and attitudes and beliefs regarding hypertension self-monitoring.

Work Location: This is a hybrid position. It will primarily be a remote position, but in-person work will be required on event days on a quarterly basis. Health Fairs will require in-person attendance. Other dates will be shared as added to the calendar.

Work Schedule: Up to 7 hours/week. This is a casual position and may last up to approximately 6 months, depending on funding. This casual position will be in place, and you will have a work schedule of up to 7 hours per week.

Reports to: Clinical Director, UMN Mobile Health Initiative; with a secondary dotted line reporting relationship to Assistant Professor of Medicine and HI HOPE 2 PI

Job Duties
HIHOPE Community Partnership Collaboration - Approximately 3 hours/week

  • Coordinate and plan MHI/POPLI events related to HI HOPE.
  • Coordinate and attend the HI HOPE study team bi-monthly meetings and communications.

HIHOPE Client Health Education - Approximately 3 hours/week

  • Attend MHI/POPLI events to interact with community partners, provide volunteer guidance and support, and serve community members.
  • Work with POPLI coordinators to track follow-up calls for participants who received a blood pressure cuff at previous events.
  • Use of REDCap for study participant data entry.

HIHOPE Scholarship - Up to 1 hour/week when other weeks have less hours

  • Assist in aspects of manuscript drafting, including literature review, data analysis, and reference database management.
  • Support the completion of required regulatory documents and other regulatory tasks as needed (i.e., Institutional Review Board, National Institute of Health).

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS and/or a combination of education and experience to equal four years
  • At least two years of health-related volunteer and/or work experience
  • Experience working with diverse, refugee and/or immigrant communities
  • 1 year of experience with research methodology, ethics, and data collection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in community and public health
  • Experience in data management of various data sources (REDCap or electronic health records).
  • Demonstrated skill in study coordination, project management, or administrative work.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Administrative or customer service experience
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $24.00/hour
