Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Clinical Engineering.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Engineering Operations Manager, the CE Operations Supervisor will function as a key member of the healthcare technology management team, providing overall supervision of all biomedical technicians. Will manage preventive maintenance and repairs activities of the department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coaches the clinical engineering technicians. Inspects completed work; assures that work is completed properly.
- Acts as a technical resource to his/her staff for repair and maintenance activities on selected equipment and related systems. The Supervisor is accountable for all clinical equipment maintenance. This includes not only directing the efforts of Biomedical Technicians but also ensuring that all significant regulatory and accreditation issues related to equipment maintenance are observed.
- Reviews anddocuments maintenance procedures and tasks utilizing the healthcare maintenance management system.
- Identifies opportunities for workflow improvement and risk mitigation for the clinical engineering department.
- Assists with Environment of Care, security and compliance reporting as directed
- Collaborates with vendors and internal teams to document completed tasks, recalls, and upgrades.
- Monitor work order status, preventative maintenance schedules and asset status, and make sure they are up to date to maintain a current and accurate inventory of medical equipment.
- Manage data integrity and perform QA/QC to identify data anomalies and deficiencies in health technology management systems
- Audits work completed by in-house staff and takes corrective actions where necessary. Attends routine and special meetings as assigned, to include the Safety Committee and New Equipment Acquisition Committee if applicable.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and success of hospital-wide operational projects and initiatives related to equipment and/or Clinical Engineering as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2 years of experience in biomedical engineering, maintenance management, clinical system support, administration, or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong technical skills in clinical systems, including software, hardware, and database management.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,415.19 - $110,691.98 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
