Markon is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Architect (VMware/Cloud) to support our Virginia customer in Herndon, VA.

The ideal Senior Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

Install and configure vCenter Server to support enterprise virtualization needs.

• Administer and maintain ESXi cluster servers across multiple data centers.

• Design and implement complex infrastructure architectures using VMware products such as vSphere, vCenter, and/or Aria Suite.

• Support disaster recovery (DR) and failover operations utilizing NSX, SRM, and/or vSAN.

• Architect and design distributed systems, including failover techniques, rollback/recovery mechanisms, and application partitioning strategies.

• Monitor and assess the health and performance of virtual machines (VMs) operating in multiple data centers.

• Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of enterprise virtualization and hybrid cloud environments.

Required:

• Active TS/SCI with a Lifestyle Polygraph (preferrably with this client)

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

• At least sixteen (16) years of overall IT experience.

• Ability to install and configure vCenter Server.

• Experience working with ESXi cluster servers.

• Strong technical knowledge of VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and/or Aria Suite.

• Experience implementing NSX, SRM, and/or vSAN in operational DR/failover scenarios.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems, including failover and application partitioning.

• Experience monitoring virtual machines in large-scale environments.

Desired:

• Master's degree in programming, computer science, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of network and storage architectures, including SCSI, RAID, Ethernet, and SMP designs.

• Experience virtualizing enterprise applications.

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and VMware 7.

• Expertise in networking and cloud migration.

• Familiarity with automation and operations integration across IT infrastructure.
