An LA manufacturer is looking for a Controller to join their team. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for leading daily accounting operations, month-end close, team development, and leading projects within accounting. To be successful in this role, the Controller should be an established people manager, be able to work in a dynamic environment, and have great follow-through ability. What do you need for this Controller role?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 20+ years of accounting experience
  • Must have inventory accounting experience
  • Must have public accounting experience and/or be a CPA
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong supervisory experience
What will you do in this Controller role?
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including inventory costing, standard costing, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee distribution and logistics-related accounting processes to ensure alignment with inventory and cost of goods sold.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Act as lead on cross-functional projects, driving initiatives related to process improvement, ERP upgrades, and supply chain optimization.
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and variance analysis for senior leadership.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
