Genesis10 is seeking a Computer Operator: II (Intermediate) for a 3-month hybrid contract to hire position with a leading client in Columbus, OH.

Compensation: $18-23.50 per hour W2.

Job Description:

The Computer Operator II (Intermediate) provides moderate support to production computer systems. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, coordinating with users, and restarting production batch jobs. Under general supervision, Computer Operator II provides moderate support to the production computer systems. They utilize established procedures to perform routine tasks while maintaining productivity best practices. They are responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and restarting production batch jobs. They use knowledge, interpersonal skills, and confidence to work with colleagues to ensure the system batch is performing accurately and efficiently. While competent in performing several computer operations duties, the role still requires instruction and guidance from more experienced duties.

Responsibilities:



  • Monitor IBM z/OS mainframe system and peripheral equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly (mainframe z/OS and distributed systems)
  • Diagnose and fix technical problems to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
  • Perform data processing operations according to business schedules (CTASKs/production modifications)
  • Monitor, repair, restart, and schedule batch jobs (Rocket Zeke, Zebb, and Zena and AWS Data Late)
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems from unauthorized access (banking standards, regulations, and laws)
  • Work with programmers and systems analysts to coordinate production environments and resolve system issues
  • Provide support to users, answering questions, and troubleshooting problems
  • Maintain accurate records of system performance, issues, and resolutions (ServiceNow (incidents & CTASKs), Outlook, procedures (KB))
  • These responsibilities help ensure that computer systems run efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.


Requirements:

  • Some experience in maintaining and operating and monitoring mainframe system, understanding error messages, and performing routine tasks
  • One to three years of satisfactory experience in computer operations
  • Familiar with day-to-day processes and procedures
  • Familiar with Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Visio
  • Familiar with ServiceNow or similar
  • Familiar with SAR and AWS Data Lake or similar
  • Familiar with Zeke, Zebb, and Zena or similar
  • Aware of ChangeMan and Easytrieve or similar
  • Aware of COBOL, Rexx, and JCL or similar
  • Familiar with recognizing symptoms or errors, assessing the problem to understand its nature and impact, and applying appropriate solutions to fix the issue and restore to normal operations
  • Aware of developing creative solutions to address issues and improving banking /Computer Operation processes
  • Familiar with effective communication skills to collaborate with other colleagues and customers
  • Familiar with understanding the concerns, goals, and feedback
  • Familiar with conveying advice and guidance in a straightforward and understandable manner
  • Familiar with ensuring accuracy in monitoring and maintenance tasks
  • Familiar with the ability to adapt to new technologies and changing environments
  • Flexibility: Familiar with adjusting approaches to suit the unique needs and circumstances of each colleague
  • Collaboration: Familiar with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
