Area: Southeast Wisconsin, Milwaukee location (Hybrid - 60% Onsite)

Reports to: Vice President of Statewide Philanthropy

Status: Full-time, Salaried

Salary Range: $64,000 - $68,000 per year

About the Role

As Grant Proposal & Stewardship Manager, you'll be a key driver of our philanthropic success. With a 500% increase in grant funding over the past five years, we're looking for a strategic and detail-oriented professional to help us sustain and grow this momentum.

You'll manage the full grant lifecycle-from identifying prospects and writing compelling proposals to reporting outcomes and stewarding funder relationships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about connecting funders with meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft approximately 100 persuasive grant proposals, letters of intent, and reports aligned with JA's mission and funder priorities annually.
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to define goals, outcomes, and budgets.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and integrate it into organizational systems.
  • Identify and research new funding opportunities.
  • Build and nurture relationships with corporate and foundation partners.
  • Support key events and donor engagements in the Southeast Region.
  • Track grant performance and ensure compliance with funder expectations.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Journalism, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of grant writing and management experience.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and ability to travel locally.


Work Environment

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week, once successfully trained. You'll also attend off-site meetings and events, occasionally outside of standard business hours.
