JOB TITLE:

Student Activities and Programs Coordinator - Outdoor Program Rental Shop Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

Provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Outdoor Program's Equipment Rental Program and the bike and ski repair shops.

Note: This position involves on-call status and is a P-220 Calendar Position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration and oversight of the equipment rental shop;
  • Oversight and management of the Outdoor Program bike and ski repair shop;
  • Purchasing, maintaining and repairing outdoor equipment;
  • Market and recruit rental shop services with an emphasis on supporting the campus community;
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate student staff;
  • Assist with Outdoor Program trip coordination, educational trainings, and the climbing wall;
  • Oversee and implement risk management practices for Outdoor Recreation programs;
  • Administer University of Wyoming policies, procedures and department regulations or guidelines for programs and activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

    SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field

    Experience: 2 year work-related experience

    Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience mentoring or supervising college students and/or young adults.

    Experience working in an equipment rental and/or retail service environment.

    Experience managing bike and/or ski maintenance programs.

    Experience marketing and promoting programs.

    Experience with Point-of-Sale operations.

    Experience working in a collegiate Outdoor Recreation Program.

    Experience managing risk in Outdoor Recreation programs.

    Experience leading Outdoor Recreation trips.

    Experience managing or working at an indoor climbing facility.

    Hold a current Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder Certification or ability to obtain within three months of employment.

    On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.
