Summary At Columbia Distributing, we are a progressive company fueled by the bold, strategic growth of our people and brands. We're looking for a Senior Director of Human Resources to lead and elevate our HRBP function supporting our mission --driving alignment between our people strategy and business objectives across our distribution network. This role blends strategic vision with HR operational rigor and is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives at the intersection of people, business, and culture. This role can be based in either of our corporate offices in Kent, WA or Wilsonville, OR.
Purpose
You will lead a team of HR Business Partners and Generalists, developing a high-performing organization that partners closely with business leaders to shape talent strategies that support performance, growth, and employee experience. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who brings understands the pace and complexity of supply chain and distribution operations and brings best-in-class HR practices into daily execution.
Strategic Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, aligning people strategies with business needs.
- Champion a proactive, embedded HRBP model that anticipates and addresses workforce needs.
- Provide expertise on org design, team effectiveness, leadership development, and change management.
- Leverage data and insight to influence strategy and drive accountability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of HRBPs and Generalists.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations; foster continuous learning and feedback culture.
- Build HRBP capabilities to serve as credible, high-impact partners to business leaders.
Talent Strategy & Enablement
- Partner with the business and HR SMEs to design and implement enterprise-wide talent planning, performance management, and succession strategies.
- Guide employee development plans and drive cross-functional mobility.
- Own the HRBP role in delivering performance reviews, engagement surveys, and training initiatives.

Operational HR Excellence
- Ensure consistent application of HR processes and policies across locations.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Total Rewards, Employee Experience) to deliver seamless employee lifecycle support.
- Partner with Labor Relations to support unionized employees and manage related issues.
Culture, Engagement & Inclusion

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years leading teams.
- Proven ability to support large, frontline workforces; experience in operations, supply chain, or distribution is strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and translate strategy into action.
- Deep expertise in employee and labor relations, including union environments.
- Proficient in HR systems (e.g., ADP), analytics, and performance management tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%.
Compensation
- Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
- Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
