Job Description

The Global Cross Border team is responsible for defining the cross border business strategy across travel and eCommerce and managing its execution across our five regions, working closely with market teams and cross-functional leaders around the world. The Cross Border business is a key pillar of Visa's strategy and one of the largest growth opportunities. Equally, it faces many complex and interesting challenges, touching all areas of the business, including product, pricing, legal, regulation, marketing, client engagement, and partnership development.

As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of our cross border business through initiatives focused on issuers, merchants, and end-consumers that deliver cross border travel growth and value creation.

The successful candidate will work on innovative strategies that enhances our cross border travel value propositions and effectively targets our global customer segments. By leveraging market insights, customer analytics, and competitive intelligence, this leader will develop and implement strategies across product, loyalty, offers, benefits, consulting marketing services, and key customer segments. This role will interact extensively with regional, market, and product teams to ensure alignment with the company's overall goals, driving near-term commercial impact and fostering long-term sustainable growth.

Essential Functions

  • Cross Border Travel Strategy - Support the development and refinement of the global strategy for consumer cross border travel, including global product, partnership and investment priorities and roadmaps, and views on the market and competitive landscape.

  • Key Corridors - Working closely with market, function, and strategy teams, refine and execute the global framework for cross-border corridor activation. Develop multi-year strategies for prioritized corridors to drive growth and market penetration, including investments and execution plans.

  • Go To Market - Lead commercialization efforts, including product development, pricing strategies, marketing deployment, and go-to-market plans. Monitor strategy execution and corridor performance.

  • Customer Research - Collaborate with key partners (marketing, customer insights, regional cross-border regional and product teams) to develop and execute research to identify actionable insights on consumers' cross border spending drivers, patterns, and preferences.

  • Stakeholder Management - Work effectively with global, regional and country partners (including cross border, functional and product/business teams) to develop and deliver key growth initiatives.

  • Success Metrics and Incentives - Working with Finance and Data Science, ensure the right metrics are in place to measure corridor success and that the right incentives are in place to drive performance on both sides of the corridors (sending and receiving markets).

  • Management Presentations and Analytics - Develop executive presentations and execute ad hoc analyses to support strategy development and reporting.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Proven experience in a strategic role within a global organization, focusing on cross border initiatives and/or consumer strategy.
  • Strong understanding of international markets, customer segmentation, and value proposition development, including business case development and go-to-market planning.
  • Leadership and project management skills with a track record of delivering results.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to drive change and implement new strategies.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in consumer financial services and payments.
  • Demonstrated success in driving global growth initiatives.
  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400.00 to 258,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
