The Accountant interprets and implements complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control. Supports the general ledger closing cycle, fixed asset management, inventory control management, financial statement reporting, and projects requiring financial knowledge.

When you will work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.

What you will do:

  • Applies and monitors compliance with corporate financial policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Ensures a high level of integrity is maintained within the general ledger and financial statements.

  • Assists in the development of budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.

  • Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end general ledger closing cycle and financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries.

  • Collects appropriate data and prepares compliance returns.

  • Prepares and organizes data for audit.

  • Recommends proper handling of financial transactions.

  • Reviews, investigates, documents, and assists in the implementation of accounting systems and internal control procedures.

  • Analyzes financial and nonfinancial information to identify trends or concerns, providing information to leadership to improve present and future financial performance.

  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and analyses in areas such as margin, operating expenses, budget variance, and statistical reports.

  • Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting processes and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership, which may include: trans and warehouse reporting, fixed asset reporting, lease administration, inventory cost analysis, administration of capital approval process, G/L account setup and maintenance, MPC user security and system maintenance.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum two years related experience.

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) preferred.

  • Must have knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting and analysis, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Accounting Standards for Private Entities (ASPE) and internal control analysis and implementation. Must know advanced principles of analysis, reporting, and information valuation, must understand process improvement strategies, and be technologically adaptable.

  • Experience manipulating large amounts of data.

  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets (pivot tables, macros, lookups)

  • Able to adapt to various forms of technology.

Commits to action after developing alternative courses of action that are based on logical assumptions and factual information and that take into considerations, resources, constraints, and organizational values: informs or collaborates with others as appropriate.
