JOB SUMMARY:
The Parks Maintenance Tech I - IV performs general and increasingly skilled park maintenance work involving moderate responsibility, complexity, and variety. The successful candidate will perform a variety of strenuous manual labor including general grounds maintenance and routine landscaping at parks, recreation centers, and other sites. This is park/general maintenance work at the experienced level, involving operation of most equipment and specialized assignments requiring training and experience. Reporting to the Superintendent of Parks, the incumbent performs related work as assigned under direct and indirect supervision. The jobholder is an essential employee meaning they are responsible providing services that are critical functions required to maintain order, peace, safety, and the well-being of residents and visitors to the City of Frederick in the event of a critical incident. As such, the jobholder will be required to respond to emergencies as needed throughout the Department of Public Works when directed to do so.
