Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the proper receiving, stocking, and distribution of goods delivered to the City. This position performs intermediate clerical and skilled work involving the prompt and efficient receiving and handling of materials received and stored in the municipal warehouses and yards. The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of inventory and related records. The position has regular contact inside and outside the department, seeking information and/or supplying materials necessary for City operations. The Warehouse Coordinator is also responsible for City mail operations. The work requires moderate physical effort under somewhat disagreeable working conditions. An employee in this position must be available to respond to emergencies outside normal business hours as necessary.

WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR I

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Reviews inventory reports and confers with using departments to determine proper minimum and maximum quantity of stock on hand.
*Compiles data from sources such as contracts and purchase orders.
*Enters information to maintain inventory, shipping, or other records.
*Responsible for electronically updating warehouse inventory of all warehouse stock orders.
*Responsible for deliveries of goods to outlying departments.
*City mail and courier service.
*Responsible for yearly warehouse inventory processes.
*Compiles records pertaining to ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
*Generates stock requisitions for item replenishment.
*Issues stock requisitions for supplies, tools and equipment to requisitioning employees; verifies charges to proper account and obtains authorized signature prior to release of materials.
*Interfaces with plumbing contractors in the sale and distribution of water meter racks.
*Continuously reviews warehouse inventory to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
*Participates in periodic inventories.
*Maintains professional communication with internal and external customers.
*Gives direction to temporary personnel as assigned.
*Operates a vehicle observing legal and defensive driving practices on a regular basis.
*Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
*High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
*Three (3) years of related experience in receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:
*Vehicle Operator's license with satisfactory driving record that meets insurability standards of the City's insurance carrier is required. The employee must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.

REQUIRED SKILLS (Communication/Language; Mathematical; Computer; etc.):
*Intermediate level knowledge and ability to use computers.
*Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
*Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
*Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
*Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
*Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
*Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
*Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER DESIRABLES:
*CDL license.
*Forklift certification.

*Performs tasks to include all Warehouse Coordinator I duties and responsibilities.
*Assists and mentors the Warehouse Coordinator I.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
*High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
*Three (3) years of related experience in receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:
*Vehicle Operator's license with satisfactory driving record that meets insurability standards of the City's insurance carrier is required. The employee must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.
*Forklift certification.

REQUIRED SKILLS (Communication/Language; Mathematical; Computer; etc.):
*Competent in all aspects of mail process (mail machine operations, certified mailings, bulk processing, month end reporting, and shipping operations).
*Intermediate level knowledge and ability to use computers.
*Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
*Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
*Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
*Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
*Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
