Position Summary The Senior Director, Faculty Engagement and Digital Innovation for Research and Instructional Technology (RIT) will develop a comprehensive program of faculty engagement opportunities to advance the use of teaching and research technologies at NYU. Create a vision for and grow an RIT Faculty Fellows program that addresses emerging technologies, faculty research and teaching interests, and university priorities. Partner with various key stakeholders across the NYU community to create a series of faculty development opportunities that advance emerging technologies and enhance existing development activities. Lead the learning analytics team to address both programmatic and institutional priorities for student success. Work with faculty, university administration, and instructional technology leaders to determine the future investment in emerging technologies. Work across the university to advance awareness of the RIT Faculty Fellows program and to share current fellowship projects. Conduct research and implement emerging technologies that address teaching and learning challenges, advance digital fluency, and provide impact at scale. Partner with the Digital Studio within Bobst Library to provide access to programming and services to faculty and students. Lead a team that will advance digital fluency for faculty and students. Work collaboratively with the dynamic RIT Leadership Team to set strategy for RIT and identify overlaps and opportunities to grow faculty engagement. Partner with other units within NYU IT to advance these projects and ensure the university resources meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Design and Technology, or a related field. Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 10+ years of demonstrated success in implementing new technologies, pedagogies, or learning space design to advance teaching and learning. Experience leading/managing a team. Experience with implementing projects/programs in an academic setting. Experience in evaluating emerging technologies for fit in an educational setting. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication skills. Experience working with faculty from diverse disciplines. Demonstrated experience in developing and successfully deploying projects across a school/university/campus. Ability to build collaborations and consensus through relationship-building. Deep knowledge of technology integration in teaching and learning, and the growth and support of faculty. Understanding of instructional design principles. Proven experience in innovation in teaching and learning with technology. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work across distributed IT/instructional design units in a university setting. Experience with learning analytics and/or student success initiatives. Experience with communications strategies for telling the impact and engagement story of the organization. Experience presenting at national conferences and working with consortia/collaborating with other organizations. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $205,000.00 to USD $245,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
