The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of
Medicine (
SSOM) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the
ASSISTANT
PROFESSOR
level.
We seek a colleague whose research program is focused on cardiovascular and cell physiology research. Careful but not exclusive consideration will be given to applicants who engage in biophysical and proteomic approaches to address fundamental knowledge gaps about cellular regeneration and molecular determinants of aging processes. Departmental strengths include faculty engaged in cardiovascular science, ion channel physiology, molecular motors, cellular biophysics, calcium signaling, nuclear steroid receptors, and aging research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with collaborative translational research groups within Loyola's Cardiovascular Research Institute (
CVRI) and the Center for Healthy Aging and Resistance Mechanisms (

The
SSOM is actively expanding its foundational research departments and we seek innovators
to advance studies that span foundational and clinical investigations. Laboratory space will be
provided in the Center for Translational Research and Education
(www.luc.edu/ctre).
Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience with strong publication
records. The faculty applicant will be expected to sustain an independent, externally-funded
research program and contribute to graduate and medical education.
