Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
Under the general supervision of the Director of Transfer Admission, the Transfer Admission Coordinator serves as one of the first points of contact for the transfer admission team, providing a high level of customer service to all prospective transfer students. They provide support to the transfer team through the transcript evaluation process by reviewing course descriptions and recommending articulation decisions. Additionally, the Transfer Admission Coordinator will assist with emails, event planning and other administrative needs as it pertains to the undergraduate recruitment and admission plan of the transfer admission team. |
Essential Functions |
- Understands all policies and processes related to transfer admission at University of the Pacific and provides in-house admission advisement to transfer applicants.
- Coordinate articulation efforts with faculty, advisors, and staff members of the Admissions and Registrar's Office for course description review and articulation decisions, including processing transcripts, course entry and academic follow up.
- Assures all articulations are processed according to established processing timelines.
- Works with staff and faculty regarding transfer records and application processes and policies.
- Maintain and update ROAR, and other articulation tools.
- Possesses the flexibility and knowledge to operate in several databases; this includes but is not limited to Banner, Slate, and OnBase.
- Liaise with Enrollment Technology, academic units, and the Registrar's Office to provide customer service as it relates to transfer admission.
- Responds to inquiries and application questions that come through the central transfer admission email and phone line which are often complex in nature. This requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the admissions process and policies.
- Audits transfer applications against minimum university policies and programmatic standards and requirements.
- Provides data entry support to the admission and recruitment office, including but not limited to updating new and existing prospective student records, and entering events and trips in Slate.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested to support the prospective transfer students and the transfer enrollment goals at University of the Pacific.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Associate degree.
- One (1) year of work experience in an administrative, admissions or customer service role.

Preferred Qualifications |
- One (1) year of direct work experience working with student populations.
- High level of cultural competency.
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer office software including word-processing, spreadsheet applications and office databases.
- Experience performing professional outreach or advising with California community college transfer students, and a general understanding and appreciation of the needs of this population.
- Knowledge of Banner, OnBase and Slate systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills.
- Knowledge and experience using standard computing tools including Microsoft Office applications, online databases, email, and web-based research tools.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Duties require constant sitting and repetitive motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Frequent walking, standing and simple grasping. Hiring Range |
$18.99 - 23.74 per hour. (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.) |
