In this role, you'll lead a team of writers and help them turn that vision into reality by creating documentation that empowers customers to learn quickly and build solutions efficiently.

Working in Snowflake's fast-paced, technically demanding cloud-development environment, you'll lead a world-class technical writing team to produce and maintain documentation for the Snowflake Data Cloud. In our dynamic environment, your leadership will have immediate impact, supporting product releases and helping our growing global customer base succeed. You'll be part of an organization that understands the unique challenges and best practices of producing modern technical documentation and that strives to be the best in the discipline.

Required experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing technical documentation teams, with a focus on audiences such as data analysts, developers, architects, and system administrators.

  • Proven expertise in project management, including the ability to initiate, implement, and maintain multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience with docs-as-code solutions:

    • Proficiency in plain-text markup languages (e.g., Markdown, reStructuredText, HTML).

    • Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Visual Studio Code).

    • Familiarity with build tools (e.g., Sphinx).

    • Proficiency in source control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Experience in using and documenting the following technologies:

    • Programming languages/APIs, with a focus on SQL, Python, and Java.

    • Writing, testing, and reviewing sample code.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and RDBMS technologies (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, Redshift, SQL Server, Postgres) and practical knowledge of data engineering principles.

  • Familiarity with data pipeline technologies for ingestions, transformation, and analytics (for example, bulk loading data, ETL/ELT, Spark, dbt, or Kafka).

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

  • Comfortable working within a complex code base across multiple teams and dependencies in a fast-paced development environment.

  • Proven self-starter with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience building relationships with SMEs and engineers.
