Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas System is seeking a fully remote IT System Administrator to join our dynamic Information Technology team supporting cloud services, enterprise applications, secure identity management, and system integrations across multiple campuses. This role is critical in building and sustaining reliable, innovative technology platforms that advance education, research, and public service throughout the UA System.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, solutions-driven, and committed to delivering excellent service in a distributed, collaborative, remote work environment.

* Administer Microsoft cloud infrastructure, Windows and Linux servers, and enterprise storage systems.
* Manage identity and access services including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Single Sign-On solutions.
* Support enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Workday ERP, DocuSign, Zoom, Affinaquest, Anaplan, and SnapLogic integration workflows.
* Configure, manage, and monitor secure file transfer protocols (SFTP/SSH).
* Troubleshoot and resolve advanced infrastructure, cloud, authentication, and application issues.
* Create and maintain system documentation, including technical diagrams and operational procedures.
* Collaborate remotely with IT leaders, campus technology teams, and external vendors to implement system-wide technology solutions.
* Participate in cloud adoption strategies, infrastructure modernization, and business continuity planning.
* Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support and mentor junior staff when needed. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The educational equivalent of Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least three years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
  • Experience supporting Workday ERP and SnapLogic or similar Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS).
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Entra ID Certified, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+.
  • Experience working in higher education, multi-campus, or decentralized IT environments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of University of Arkansas System (UASYS) information technology systems, initiatives, capabilities, and organizations
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud services, server administration, identity and access management, and secure networking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Understanding cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for working remotely with diverse, distributed teams.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, remote work environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, customer service, and supporting academic excellence across a university system.
  • Ability to make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved on a timely basis
  • Ability to provide direction and use interpersonal influences to gain goal alignments with results versus activity-oriented outcomes
