The CFT program prepares relational therapists who value inclusion and prize diversity such that they are prepared to offer a continuum of mental health services across a variety of settings for the benefit of the community and society. We are looking for a colleague who can teach a course titled Family Issues: Addictions & Trauma which covers topics related to substance abuse treatments from a trauma-informed lens. This course is offered every Fall and Spring semesters for master's students in the CFT program. This position is for the Fall 2025 semester with the possibility of renewal of contract to teach in subsequent semesters. Lecturer, Couple and Family Therapy Program What you will do: 1. Teach CMFT 6170: Family Issues- Addictions and Trauma in Fall 2025 semester. Classes are scheduled from August 18 - December 13, 2025, and meet on Tuesdays, 3:30 -6:15pm. 2. Collaborate with the Program Director to address any academic or curriculum related issues while teaching the course. Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications) Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. * MA in Marriage and Family Therapy or related clinical disciplines like Mental Health Counseling or Social Work. * LMFT or LPC or LMHC or LCSW in addition to License in Addictions Counseling (LAC). * At least two years post-graduate clinical experiences in the field of substance abuse treatment and trauma-informed therapies. Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications) * Combination of LMFT or LCSW and LAC. * Expertise in providing clinical services to individuals, couples, and families impacted by substance abuse disorders from a systemic, trauma-informed lens, and/or medical family therapy. * Experience of providing clinical supervision to graduate students. * Experience teaching graduate courses. Conditions of Employment In-person classes are preferred; however, hybrid or fully virtual class meetings via zoom can be arranged. Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements * The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers. Compensation and Benefits The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5,000 per fully enrolled 3-credit course. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
