The UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking to fill the position of Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor or Assistant/Associate Professor in the Periodontics Department. Position will be filled as a ranked non-tenure track or tenure/tenure-track commensurate with applicant qualifications. The faculty member will have primary responsibilities in the education and clinical supervision of DDS and Advanced Periodontics residents in the field of Periodontology. Academic rank will be commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience: * A tenure track/tenured appointment will have workload expectations based upon teaching, research, and service for promotion and award of tenure. * A ranked Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor appointment provides and opportunity for ranked NTT promotion with a workload focused on teaching and service. There is an opportunity for additional compensation in clinical practice for qualified candidates. Qualifications
* All applicants must have a DDS or DMD degree and a certificate of advanced training in Periodontology from a CODA-accredited institution. * Applicants must be eligible for and obtain the appropriate Missouri Dental License prior to starting their employment. To be eligible for a tenure-eligible faculty position, applicants must present: * an active research schema and demonstrated success or potential for success in obtaining external funding as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator * prior experience or demonstrated ability to teach didactic and clinical courses in an advanced dental education program, and * evidence of service to and/or participation in organizations which work to advance dental education and research Anticipated Hiring Range
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and evidence of success in externally funded research. This is a 12-month, benefit-eligible, full-time (1.0) faculty appointment eligible for either non-tenure track (or) tenure/tenure-track with rank and track commensurate with applicant qualifications.
