Job Overview
The Project Manager in the Electrical Division is a critical leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of administration, labor, material, and company assets on assigned projects within the AE Construction Mission. This position is based on the Island of Oahu and requires a dynamic individual capable of ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager will be the key point of contact between the company, clients, and on-site teams, ensuring that all project goals are met while maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures strict adherence to the project budget, continuously monitoring expenditures to prevent overruns and achieve financial targets.
- Maintains a safe working environment by minimizing lost time incidents and ensuring a high score on AE's Safety Audit.
- Delivers exceptional value to clients by meeting or exceeding their expectations, fostering long-term business relationships.
- Successfully manage projects to ensure they are completed within or under budget, thereby maximizing profitability.
- Achieve zero lost time incidents and maintain a consistently high score on the AE Safety Audit, reflecting a strong commitment to safety.
- Continuously monitor the project's progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, budget compliance, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns.
- Ensure that all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations in terms of quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, thereby enhancing client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Prepare and submit budget forecasts, cost reports, and financial summaries to management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervision of assigned employees and subcontractors.
Education and/or Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in management role overseeing large-scale electrical projects.
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required. This educational background provides the necessary knowledge in engineering principles, construction processes, and project management techniques.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Software Proficiency:
- Vista: Use for financial management and project accounting.
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.): Essential for project documentation and reporting.
- Electrical Estimating Software ie McCormick, Accubid, EBM, Conest
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software.
- Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
