Vertex Fall 2025 Co-op, Integrated Pharmacology (Boston, MA)

Job Description

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Integrated Pharmacology team located in Boston, MA. This individual will work in a collaborative setting with a team of biologists to execute sophisticated biological experiments. Experience in cell culture or molecular techniques, such as qPCR, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry and imaging, is preferred. The applicant must be a demonstrated team player and able to work closely and responsively within their team. Excellent communication and people skills are required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Senior Scientists to plan, execute, and analyze experiments.
• Handle biological samples such as cells and tissues.
• Culture mammalian cells and maintain sterile technique.
• Perform immunocytochemistry and molecular techniques, such as Western blotting and qPCR.
• Maintain accurate and reliable record keeping including database entry, notebook, and all other pertinent documentation.

Qualifications:

• The qualified candidate will be enrolled in a graduate or PhD degree program, and have a relevant background in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated, works efficiently in a team as well as independently, and be adaptable to fast-paced environment.
• Follow the guideline of data integrity and deliver data with good time management.
• Experience in cell culture and sterile techniques is preferred.

• Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
• Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025.

Program Dates: July - December 2025, Full Time

Pay Range 30.00 - 50.00 USD/hour
