Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing clinical pharmacy operations in both primary care and specialty pharmacy services. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and timely medication management services while performing direct patient care functions. Ensures institutional compliance with all applicable regulations, including but not limited to CA Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, CDPH and CMS standards. This position will collaborate with leadership and staff to promote safe, optimal and cost-effective medication use processes. These activities required effective communication, organizational skills, strategic planning, personnel supervision, data management and reporting, process evaluation and improvement, and staff development/training. Incumbent will work closely with pharmacy leadership and have strong communication skills. Incumbent is expected to actively participate in pharmacy education programs and oversee and assist with training of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and residents. This position is a Direct Patient Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Incumbents will lecture two times per year to other medical professionals and be published at least one time every three years in a medical journal.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist with current, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing with the CA Boad or Pharmacy
  • Minimum of five (5) years as a licensed pharmacist and a minimum of three years of professional clinical pharmacy experience in an ambulatory setting or; a combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills as required above is required.
  • Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience including training and guiding other practitioners, pharmacists, residents, and students on clinical and technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of specialty pharmacy
  • Medication Therapy Management Experience
  • Knowledge of 340B program
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty clinical field
