Job Summary:

The Primary Therapist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating a variety of therapeutic modalities, including individual, family, and group therapies. This role necessitates effective communication with families and collaboration with the treatment team to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical support within Newport Healthcare's framework. The Primary Therapist plays a vital role in fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes healing and growth for clients and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Communication:

• Serve as the primary clinical contact for families, maintaining proactive and clear communication regarding the client's progress and treatment, ensuring families are informed and engaged throughout the process.

Therapeutic Facilitation:

• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing Newport Healthcare's clinical model and principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy to promote effective healing and relationship-building.
• Conduct group therapy sessions regularly, creating a supportive and engaging environment for participants.
• Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to engage and educate families about the treatment process, fostering a supportive community.

Assessment and Planning:

• Complete risk assessments and initial safety plans upon client admission to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions.
• Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans within established timelines, tailored to each client's unique needs.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate treatment goals and services, including regular 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates to track client progress.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to established standards and regulatory requirements.

Crisis Management:

• Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide appropriate interventions and management as necessary to ensure client safety and well-being, utilizing de-escalation techniques and support resources.

Team Collaboration:

• Attend and actively participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision, contributing to enhanced team dynamics and treatment efficacy through open communication and collaboration.

Data Management:

• Accurately enter and save data using Microsoft Word, Outlook (email and calendaring), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and online learning platforms, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

Professional Development:

• Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed, promoting the organization's mission and values while engaging in continuous professional growth and development.

Additional Responsibilities:

• The individual will need to have a strong focus on substance abuse counseling, utilizing evidence-based practices to support clients in their recovery journey.
• The individual will carry a small caseload of clients, providing personalized care and attention to each individual's needs.

• Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
• Licensed or ability to transfer license in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist in the state in which services are provided
• Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents
• Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
