Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Oversees, supervises and coordinates activities of warehouse teammates. * Reviews reports from the AM management team. * Conducts a pre-shift inspection of the Warehouse. Determines the readiness of the forklifts, order pickers and other equipment assigned. Also assesses the overall maintenance and condition of the warehouse and surrounding areas. * Advises and demonstrates to the employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. * Complete reports as needed and communicates essential information to management and day Warehouse Supervisor/Manager. * Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock. * Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels. * Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. * Ensures all actions and processes are performed in a safe and orderly manner. * Monitors safety of forklift operators and provides training and retraining as needed. * Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. * Determines and improves work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. * Issues written and oral instructions. * Interviews applicants and evaluates performances. * Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. * Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. * Maintains harmony among workers and is the first person in the chain of command to resolve grievances. * Conducts post-shift inspection of the Warehouse. * Provides safety training to teammates in accordance with company policies and procedures. * Trains and retrains employees. * Other duties as assigned by the PM Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift certification and other warehouse certifications as needed. Train-the-trainer certifications preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
