Our Advanced Industries Practice is seeking an Account Manager to join our team out of our Denver, CO, office! This is a great opportunity to work side by side with exceptional professionals focusing on the digital asset industry, as well as technology, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing industries. We are focused on providing excellent service to our clients, developing comprehensive and unique insurance programs that best fit their philosophy and needs.

What You'll Do



  • Serves as the day-to-day contact for all client requests within a book of business (Middle Market accounts) with account revenues of $25,000 - $100,000 per account, with a total book revenue of approximately $1,000,000 to $1,300,000.
  • With direction from the Account Executive, prepares (or delegates where applicable) all relevant renewal materials (Exposure Updates, Applications, Premium & Loss Summary, Coverage Comparison, Premium & Rate Comparison, etc.).
  • Using the client workbook, and under the direction of the Account Executive, creates the marketing submission and manages ongoing negotiations with carriers.
  • Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy and desired coverages, terms, pricing based on submission, generates and populates the proposal, and sends to Account Executive for completion/review.
  • Partners with Account Executive on client interactions, negotiations, technical analysis, and program design.
  • Supports in winning new business & supports Account Executive with new client onboarding.
  • Works on developing ability to anticipate problems through client or underwriter communications or industry changes.
  • Develops and maintains carrier relationships.
  • Receives policies, sends instructions to the applicable COE, and keeps COE abreast of any changes that occur during negotiations with ability to process the policy if needed.
  • Performs (or delegates where applicable) premium allocations, surplus lines template preparation, certificate of insurance template preparation & master approval, requests for on-demand certificates, basic contract reviews, policy endorsements processes; resolves coverage and premium discrepancy issues; and reviews audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies.
  • Pursues technical knowledge of team's focused industries through education.
  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values.

You Should Have



  • 3+ yrs. applicable insurance experience with specialty experience preferred.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to build underwriter and client relationships.
  • Ability to delegate to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Maintains increased technical knowledge, both insurance industry and book of business industries.
  • Ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards. Experience working with Applied Epic is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Some travel required (up to 20% depending on book of business & industry).
  • Holds state property & casualty insurance license.
  • Holds or is pursuing general insurance designation (preferred).


Salary Range
$60,000 $80,000 USD
