Hours Per Week: 40 Weekends: Benefit Eligible The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control program. The Infection Prevention Program implements a multidisciplinary collaborative plan designed to prevent and control the spread of infection among patients, staff, volunteers and visitors in the healthcare setting. Required Qualifications: BSN or BS in Medical Technology or Microbiology OR RN, Pharmacist or Medical Laboratory Technician with National Certification in Infection Control (CIC) Three to five years' experience in a healthcare or laboratory/clinical setting. Exceptions will be made for other relevant experience. Strong organizational and planning skills Ability to work with common computer software applications and databases Ability to work effectively in a team Knowledge and application of quality improvement principles and practices Excellent communication skills with ability to handle diverse and complex situations Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Nursing, Master of Public Health degree Two years' experience in Infection Control Experience in providing staff education Previous experience with public health agencies Formal leadership experience National Certification in Infection Control (CIC) Demonstrated leadership skills EEO/M/F/D/V
