Summary:The Injection Molding Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management, counseling, disciplining, and coaching of personnel within assigned area. This includes driving the output and activities of the assigned cells and work areas as well as other priorities as set forth by the Injection Molding Superintendent and/or Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position reports directly to and will receive direction from the Injection Molding Superintendent.

The primary responsibility of the Injection Molding Supervisor is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assume organizational responsibility for production staff and implement a culture of excellence (visible leadership)
  • Maintains a safe, clean work area and follow all established safety guidelines and 5S, ensuring conformance with OSHA.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
  • Balance labor according to workload
  • Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Oversees group leaders and Assistant Supervisor in their delegation of personnel
  • Ensures on-time and accurate fulfillment of job orders
  • Sets expectations and holds employees accountable to those expectations
  • Responsible for Conflict Resolution on shift
  • Responsible for Root Cause Analysis of safety incidents, quality incidents, and production inefficiencies.
  • Support and Implement Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Responsible for accurate attendance time recordings and disciplinary actions
  • Responsible for correctly receiving raw materials as needed.
  • Timely completion of shift-end reports and other documentation as required.
  • Drive process improvements, i.e. set-up time reduction, scrap reduction, and increased through-puts.
  • Ensure all set-ups and changeovers are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Supports training initiatives
  • Manages each employees Wage Classification progression ensuring that each requirement is met
  • Ensures inventory accuracy
  • Complete performance reviews for each employee annually
  • Manage In-Touch accuracy and attain OEE targets

Educationand/orExperience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelors, Associates, or Technical Degree Preferred)
  • 3+ years of Leadership experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience of Injection Molding processing
  • Knowledge of industry specific equipment used in injection molding
  • Must possess effective communication skills with the ability to remain calm and focused under stressful situations
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Results driven with ability to manage change while creating a positive environment
  • Bias for Action
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies (TPM, WCM, LEAN)
  • Strong Computing Skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point, Outlook, and ERP systems (Microsoft AX Preferred))

Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend English to follow work instructions.

Mathematical Skills:Intermediate mathematical skills and counting ability required.

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:This position has a transitioning work environment. Office/computer, manufacturing plant and outdoor environments are normal and equally essential environments for this position. The noise level in the plant environment is usually moderate. Some of the work may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc.
