RN Cardiovascular Stress Test 7195

Purpose of Job:

This position is responsible for the delivery of individualized patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice as defined by Ridgeview, the Minnesota Nurse Practice Standards Act, and the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. This position is responsible for providing Nurse Monitored/Supervised Stress Testing that meets the recommendations of the ACC/AHA Clinical Competence Statement on Stress Testing.

Job Functions

1. Assesses patient health problem needs and develops, implements and evaluates patient care plans accordingly - accesses patient for appropriate exercise and pharmacological stress test.
2. Provides Nursing Care.
3. Recognizes and treats complications of Stress Test.
4. Evaluates and monitors the patient in response to cardiovascular and exercise physiology, including hemodynamic response to exercise.
5. Communicates with Physicians outcomes of Stress Test.
6. Advises and educates patients, family members and significant others on health maintenance and disease prevention for patient.
7. Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
8. Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate to the position.
9. Serves as a patient advocate in seeking appropriate community resources to meet patient needs.
10. Interacts with and contributes to the professional developments of peers, other healthcare providers, and colleagues to enhance own professional nursing practice.
11. Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area of cardiovascular.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 2 Years recent RN Cardiac Experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• 
  
  Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  
  
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.

License/Certifications

• Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process
• BLS/ACLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
