MEP SUPERINTENDENT The MEP Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, field coordination, quality control, and supervision of subcontracted forces for projects. He/she is also responsible for assuring the project is completed in a timely manner, within budgetary constraints, and is of the highest possible quality given those constraints. Job Responsibilities: * Provide input for preparation of project construction schedule and advise supervisor of changes in the project construction which significantly impact project schedule. * Prepare and maintain proper reports in accordance with company policies and procedures and prepare surveys to update units in place on a monthly basis. * Assure accuracy of layouts. * Enforce safety policies/ procedures. * Inform supervisor of labor disputes and/or personnel problems. * Supervise and maintain adequate and competent subcontractor labor crews, and schedule and coordinate activities of all subcontractors/vendors. Supervise subcontractors to assure compliance with quality control program and minimal punch list. Supervise subcontractors to develop pre-punched check off lists and assure timely completion before architect and owner develop punch lists. Obtain client/architect signature on final punch list completion certificate. * Schedule the routing/delivery of materials and take precautions to prevent job-site theft. * Schedule/co-chair construction meeting of subcontractors/vendors. * Review/ approve overtime work requests and obtain appropriate security clearances. * Maintain a daily recap of events to review with Project Manager on a weekly basis. * Assist Project Manager and/or Estimators by reviewing bid documents and estimates. * Review subcontractor/vendor invoices as requested by Project Manager and recommend approval/reduction/rejection. * Document all field changes and as-built conditions to Project Manager. * Other activities senior management deems necessary. Job Requirements: * Five years field experience in position with some supervisory responsibility in commercial construction in the MEP (i.e. General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent). * Bachelor's degree in construction science or comparable work experience. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills. * Be able to work in the Florida Weather * Climb ladders and walk stairs of job sites. |
