The GEHA Summer Internship Program is designed to provide the following to students:

**Program begins June 9, 2025 and ends August 15, 2025**

The internship will provide an overview of the respective area and allow learning in the healthcare industry. To provide an opportunity for individuals to gain real world experience applying strategic sourcing and vendor management principles. In addition, it allows for additional support for various daily activities pertaining to the procurement and vendor management organization.

Key Duties

  • Review contracts for start dates, termination dates and other identified fields
  • Calculate lifetime value of contracts and amendments by vendor
  • Prepare, as directed, accurate and insightful communication of findings through presentations
  • Follow guidance to ensure quality and reliability of results
  • Ensure vendor contracts are properly linked and utilize a standard naming convention
  • Identify any quality issues and trends in the contract metadata

Requirements

  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Comprehension of basic legal language

Potential Projects

  • Primary focus will be reviewing the contract lifecycle management tool for accuracy and updating specific data points
  • Streamlining and organizing the Vendor Management Organization's virtual filing system

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal and civil background check, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $43,160 - $60,840 USD.
